This series explores a generative pattern through size, colour, and rhythm. The result is a series of "buttons" or "cells".

While I do not have conclusive research and evidence for this, mothers with toddlers and infants have noted that their children are drawn to this series. I personally have used this pattern to play simple arithmetic and colour identifier games with my daughter.

'Can you show Papa the Yellow button? Which button has three holes?'

For this piece, there is a quirk in the way CSS handles spacing where a large number of smaller circles inside the larger circles "push" the neighboring large circles very slightly. Web developers familiar with this behaviour will know that this usually presents itself when the cumulative size and spacing of children inside a container is greater than their parent container. I have intentionally chosen to use this behaviour to vary the spacing and tension between objects.
